At the heart of my caregiving philosophy is a simple but powerful goal:
To raise children who are confident, curious, compassionate, and equipped for life.
Whether I’m with a toddler, a first grader, or an imaginative fourth grader, every day with me is guided by a customizable enrichment framework that blends learning, play, mentorship, and personal development. I’m not a babysitter — I’m a partner in your child’s growth.
Woven into daily life — not strict or overwhelming
Designed to supplement school (or pre-K prep) with real-world learning
Built to instill values like leadership, empathy, critical thinking, responsibility, and self-regulation
Tailored to each child’s age, personality, and family values
Academic Curiosity
Daily reading time and book discussions
Early literacy and math games (for younger children)
Project-based learning and critical thinking challenges
Nature exploration, museum visits, and hands-on science
Age-appropriate history, geography, and world cultures
Social & Emotional Development
Conflict resolution coaching
Empathy through stories and real-life reflection
Emotional labeling and healthy expression
Group socialization (playdates, library time, local events)
Modeling kindness, boundaries, and inclusion
Wellness & Habits
Nutritious meals/snack guidance
Active outdoor play and gross motor development
Calming techniques and mindfulness for emotional regulation
Consistent daily rhythms that promote security and independence
Age-appropriate sleep routines and screen-time boundaries
Character & Leadership
Responsibility through chores, routines, and choices
Discussions about honesty, courage, and perseverance
Goal-setting and reflection (for school-aged kids)
Practice with decision-making and natural consequences
Building self-confidence through challenge and encouragement
This framework shifts to meet your child where they are developmentally:
Toddlers & Preschoolers: Gentle structure, language development, imaginative play, motor skills, early routines
Early Elementary: Academic enrichment, social skills coaching, self-regulation, building independence
Later Elementary and beyond: Leadership training, deeper critical thinking, real-world learning projects, mentoring mindset
Every family I work with is different — and that’s exactly why my curriculum is flexible and collaborative.
I meet with parents at the start of our contract to:
Understand your goals, values, and hopes for your child
Customize our enrichment plan together
Adapt and evolve it throughout our time together
This mentorship-based enrichment is available as part of my contract-based childcare packages, and is included in both live-in and live-out arrangements.
If you're looking for a caregiver who does more than supervise — someone who mentors, teaches, and invests in your child’s future — I’d love to talk. Get in contact with me at contact@jdchildcare.com to schedule a free consultation!
